There was more than a little bit of everything visible in H-alpha on the Sun today.

On a beautiful springtime afternoon today, I got out with the 60mm Lunt H-alpha solar scope and had a quick look at the Sun. There was more than a little bit of everything on display: prominences, plage regions, sunspots, and more.

As is the usual, the color rendition shows prominence activity best:

Looking back at my catalog of images from the past several months, I haven’t seen this much activity on the Sun in quite a while.
