Eastman Double-X 5222 (ASA 200/250)
Known/rumored respoolings: CineStill BwXX.
Observations: Take this with a grain of salt: I write this knowing that my one experience with this film stock, which I used as packaged by CineStill, is heavily influenced by what I strongly suspect was me overdeveloping this film. Even in spite of following CineStill’s recommended development time of 15 minutes for shooting at EI 400 and developing in a 1+9 dilution of Ilford Ilfosol 3 at 20°C/68°F, my negatives emerged from my developing tank looking rather dark. Upon scanning them, my images appeared quite blown out. But I could still see that Eastman Double-X 5222 is rather capable with producing images showing pleasingly dramatic contrast. Ultimately in my mind, the jury is still out on this one.
