Last week we got almost a foot of snow. This week the crocuses are in full bloom.

Last year I posted a photo of our little patch of crocuses as they were just about to open up. It was late January. Just like this year, we had gotten some snow, although not nearly as much as we got last week. And just like last year, our temperatures climbed into the 50s and 60s.

One thing I have always liked about our little neck of the woods is how short our winters are. Spring arrives when much of the country is still in a deep winter freeze. The reemergence of life always brightens my outlook.
