Since my earlier post about my photography metadata work, I’ve been spending way, way too much time parked in front of my computer. In addition to fleshing out keywords for my recent photography, I’ve also been exploring the math behind exposure theory. (I hope to do a bit of a write-up on the latter at some stage in the near future.) Much of this work revolves around a custom SQL Server database application I’ve been developing for myself these past few years.
I’ve also been busy doing some much-needed layout updates to this website.
In general, I’m often struck how much computer programming can be a time suck. Hours often pass before I notice.
Yesterday was no different. By late afternoon, I realized that I had largely blown a beautifully sunny day working on technical projects. But I did succeed with pulling myself away from my computer long enough for a quick walk with my Canon EOS M50.
A beautiful crescent moon hung in the sky. When I got home, I pulled out my Questar to have a closer look. The seeing was horrible, but it was nice to take in the beauty of one of my favorite celestial bodies and enjoy what remained of the day.
